TAPO RV70 Cleaning robot

The Tapo RV70 is an innovative new robot vacuum that not only cleans but also collects moisture from the air, purifies it, and uses it to automatically fill its water tank for mopping. It's the perfect solution for those who value hands-free convenience and cutting-edge technology in home cleaning.

The TP Link RV70 robot vacuum and base feature sleek lines and soft curves, blending modern design to fit seamlessly into home environments.

The top of the base station includes a 10-degree viewing angle and large display for easy interaction, with a streamlined shroud that conceals part lines on the side. The water tank is designed with molded horizontal line textures that indicate the "Max" water level, making it easy for users to see at a glance.

The Process

We explored a wide range of cleaning robot base station designs, from quiet to bold aesthetics and from friendly to techy styles. Ultimately, we chose a friendlier look with a subtle touch of uniqueness so it would be recognizable at a glance.

We were tasked with designing a housing that works for both the RV50 and RV70. To achieve better visual proportions, we creatively concealed the module's parting line on the inside of the front housing.
